Fantasy, nostalgia are guiding principles which shape and unify Dylan’s signature storytelling style. Exploring themes of Kinship, love and pleasure as aesthetic principles, Dylan aims to showcase the duality of these brighter emotions with deeper narratives of Grief and discomfort juxtaposed within the work.
Dylan Mitro is an Independent Filmmaker / Photographer currently based in Berlin, Germany. Starting their career in Toronto, Canada.
Featured on Highsnobiety, Office Magazine, The Fader, Hype Beast, Boooooom, Paper Magazine, Culture Collide and The Revenue.2 short documentary series with The Creator Class - with clients Canon and Redbull Music.
Dylan has collaborated with artists such as Hubert Lenoir, Babygirl, Spencer Badu, Maddie Ritter, Quarterback Baby, The Zolas, Valley, Ruby Waters, Fleece, Hubert Lenoir, Amaal and many more.
Dylan’s short films have screened at BFI Flare, Inside Out Film Festival, Frameline Film Festival, Dresden Short Film Fest, Tiff: Next Wave and more. Their projects have been supported by the Toronto Arts Council, London Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council and Canada Arts Council.
